Castle farm, currently
Adeline and Modestine PERSON

Adeline and Modestine PERSON The farm was a farm in the Barbilleria, called the farm of the castle, which they managed well and expanded. One of the things that was kept was a bag of grain bearing the inscription "PERSON-COLLET à Dampierre" and a large silver ladle with the figure "PC" (at Claude).
They married in January 1845 and their only daughter, Sidonia, was born in November.
Granie's grandmother remembers her grandparents and also her great-grandfather Louis Collet (1789-1879): (Modestine COLLET's parents were from the village ofExpenditure, a niece of Modestine Collet was called Adèle Thévenet who lived in Epernay and had a son):
Memories of Sidonia Person, wife Charpentier:

"One of my oldest memories is the sight of an old man on his knees in front of his table, near the open window. We had returned to Epense that my father had left in 1876 and he said, "This is Papa Collet who says his prayer." Why did this memory remain for me? I don't know but this old man was my great grandfather. (Louis Collet)He died in 1879. He had been a farmer in Epense and raised four children whose eldest mother was Modestine Collet-Person. He was a censor under Louis-Philippe, which indicated a certain amount of taxes, they were only 2 (Voters) In this village.
Her daughter
(Modestine Collet) married Adeline Person, also a farmer, in January 1845, my mother Sidonia Person was born in November. They lived at the farm in Dampierre (Chamber or Barbilleria farm) They've been well administered and raised. has been paralyzed for a long time, he's finished his life with us in the current house and he's died in 85. Great calculator, he was having fun raising problems with friends, playing very well at cards and taught me the multiplication table.
His brother, older than him
"... had married General Appert's sister."

John the Baptist Adeline PERSON was the son of Jean-Baptiste PERSON and Marie-Madeleine MICHEL (born in 1787 and 1788), from two large families who often intersect and from which many "cousins" and "cousins" came from the Dampierre region. Jean-Baptiste and Marie-Madeleine were cousins.
Adeline PERSON had two sisters and one brother:
The two sisters Sidonia and Modestine (wives MONTFEUILLARD) died of typhoid (Modestine had come to treat her sister).
The brother, uncle Jean-Baptiste Eugène PERSON (*2 April 1807 in Dampierre le Château +17 Feb 1890 in Auve) married Marie-Rosalie APPERT (*25 Jan 1819 in St-Rémy sur Bussy +16Jan 1873 in Auve), sister of General APPERT. numerous photos of the General and his family (page 462).
Claude's grandmother (Marguerite Charpentier married Maillet) remembers this uncle:

"Another person who had a place in the family, it was Uncle PERSON who lived in New He was born in 1807 and had his arm cut at the farm in Dampierre, where he lived with his parents, who had been a father to son for a long time. This operation was very simple and he himself said that he had seen "saw his arm".
Hygiene care was rudimentary at that time but it was well found and lived happily what was its character. Very healthy, cheerful and fun, we liked going home when we were kids, and we went there with many of our friends that we took to the Baraque.

He was a clerk of the notary in Auve and had married the sister of General APPERT (see page 462) She died before my birth, but the general and his sons continued to come to Auve where we saw them a lot. The General was ambassador to Russia from 1882 to 1884, but he had remained simple and kind and came every time to Dampierre.

The uncle who was travelling alone in his little car discovered with a very quiet horse had gone to Suippes the last day. He came home a little tired and the next morning he died before the doctor arrived.
(His grave is in Auve.)

The "Barrack" which was in full connection, was for us a long time a walking goal. There were fruits of all kinds."

(the estate included 100 ha planted with pine trees and was sold by the family between the two wars, the wooden chalet known as "the hut" still exists, Michel BESSON knows how to go in the middle of a small wood near Auve).
See report submitted to the Société Académique de la Marne in 1883 on this subject. (found in 2005, by Dominique Delacour, historian at Auve). This report by Mr Lequeux led the Academic Society to award in 1883 to Eugène Person the Silver Medal, Grand Module.

Claude's grandmother also talks about her grandmother Modestine COLLET-PERSON: "My grandmother Modestine COLLET, married as I said to Adeline PERSON, has contributed a lot to the prosperity of the farm, very much loved by the workers and in that time the labour was enormous, in the time of harvest in particular.
She was very tired and she held her house and garden in perfect order and cleanliness. I was told that she was doing alms as a person, always knowing how to find something useful to give. She came to us in 79-80, the year of a very strict winter and died in 1893.
She had only one daughter Sidonia Person who was my mother."

The following 6 miniatures (at Vierville at present) were given in Grannie by Marcellin Michel's wife (Anne-Marie Camus 1844-1932), representing Hurault-Person cousins, around 1840, without being identified:
Memories of Grannie:
"The Hurault - Person, from Berzieux, descended from a common elder, François Person, from Sivry-le-Perche (near Verdun), born around 1715.
These (neves of the parish priest):

Auguste Hurault, married to Hortense Rémy, 3 children:
1-Virginie, wife Jules Ferlet, president of the court, who had 3 children: Suzanne (married in Auve?), Georges , and Anne-Marie.
2-Georges, deceased without children
3-Marcelle, married to Paul Verdenal, doctor
e"

Memories of Claude Rougier:
"there are some miniatures of the Person-Michel-Hurault family at Granie's house that were given to him by Léon Michel's mother, angry with her daughter-in-law: "I give them to you because they are relatives with you in the 13th generation"
