My Jean,
.....we were this morning, the Tonnys and I, at the funeral of the young Saillard, who was my very touching faith.
When we got home, we had to put a hit on the arrival of the Boudier, because we still didn't get Eugénie, who will only be coming back on Wednesday. This brave girl will have missed us just the 3 days we need her! .. with Marthe invalid... With this Boudier came with their last little, a cute and wise baby, but to whom it was necessary to make a boil at noon 1⁄2, organize a bed, etc., these good people could have warned. Totoni didn't seem very happy. Finally the kid sleeps, I let Totony go around the owner to their friends and I come to write....
I miss you well, and these last days in the old house are a little melancholy, I am no longer "at home", I let Germaine receive his friends, as well as Totoni, they are house owners and it's all natural, but it does not go without some sadness. However, one day I knew it had to come about, but the deadline always surprises us....
………………

Wednesday, 21 August
My Jean,
.......It's all right here, the Boudier left yesterday afternoon, and Eugénie came back this morning. So the house is quiet...
Jean and the children (Jean-Paul, Jean-Louis and Yves probably)
. Yves who was quite tired the day after his last injection
(Birth vaccine I think I remember)I'm making her last tomorrow and I hope that he will have all September to get back together. The brave Tatou promised to take care of her especially, and I can be quiet on this side. The good girl is also all melancholy to leave the house, 21 years ago she was with us, it's a lease....
I started putting in our room yesterday, and I'll continue and finish these days. Just as I'm going to update the lists made pretty quickly by Suzon.
We have re-installed the woodwork of the library with Jean, the room is more in order as well, and Yves who put electricity in the toilets, now installs it in the stairs.
..... Friday I might go to the Brunvilles with the Totoni, the bike makes me make a grimace, especially a man's bike, I was afraid to fall, but they might have thought of making me visit.

My Jean,
I think that little word ts will still arrive in Condé before you leave, the post is going back to normal, and I got your letter yesterday 21.
I'm writing about Perrin, Leterrier, who saw Jean yesterday, asking if you could know when the company will be moving here? He says that it's about the land and housing to be allocated to him, but I also think he's in a hurry to see it start.
(perhaps it was the company that was to extend the dam to St. Lawrence?? I think I remember that this work was launched very quickly, the coastal road being threatened by the sea since the Americans had removed all the pebbles to impinge on their roads)
(PS) Jean will see Leterrier about how to get them, and if you need them, you'll be calling tomorrow, since you'll be in Bayeux on Saturday.
