Julien George was born à Saales On 16 February 1848, in a high valley of the Vosges, on the Alsace side. Both his father and mother were called George: John the Baptist (30 years old, born around 1817), and Marie-Louise (26 years old, born around 1822), probably cousins more or less distant.

Jean-Baptiste George1817 - 1883, was a teacher at Saales, his brothers Barthélémy (born around 1816) and Charles (born around 1823) were farmers there. "Thieu-thieu" (page 482)) remained in correspondence with Mom until after the war of 14-18. Postcards show the George's house in Saales.

Julien had eleven brothers and sisters, all of whom died before 30 years and without posterity. Two of them were brewers of beer (Jean-Théodore and Charles-Albert).

Julien George became Teacher as his father, first in the vicinity, in Corcieux in 1869, then in Saales, where he married in 1873 (page 481) with the widow of an iron merchant (i.e. a kind of quince): Eugénie, born Weill (page 46).

Then became "commercial" (probably his wife's business) on the birth certificate of Marguerite (page 49) (Yves' grandmother), he followed his wife to Cherbourg In 1875, where they held the "Café George", 26 rue de l'Union.

He's in died on 27 January 1895, at the time of Marguerite's marriage with Eugene Hausermann (page 49)He's buried in Cherbourg.
