Arsène Cordelle was born from an unknown father, about 1840, and most probably from Vervins in Thierache (North of France).
His mother, Irma Cordellewas one of four children of the postmaster of Vervins : Denis Cordelle (maybe married to a Waroquaux, from a family of farmers to Gercy, near VervinsIt must have been born around 1820.
One of his brothers, Pierre-Denis Cordelle († 1895) was the grandfather of Marcel Cordelle, industrial in heating (cots-caumartin stoves) that my parents knew well. His grandson Philippe Cordelle (*1948+2001) became a foreign exchange agent in Paris.
.
The name Cordelle is still common in the North and in Belgium near the border. The "Cordelle" from the region of Saint Etienne (combined with Cordelle) or Champagne (especially from the Dawn) have no kinship with those of the North.
Arsène Cordelle, a small man in barbiche, was employed in the railways of the North (which quickly replaced, in the middle of the century, the system of post-worker's duties by his grandfather Denis Cordelle). Paris, Enghien and maybe in Taverny.
In 1898, they were employed at Gare du Nord and resided 34 rue de Verneuil Paris 7th. At the end of his career, he was employed by the Archives of the Gare du Nord and retired around 1906 or 1907.
He married on May 11, 1872, in Saint Denis, Emilia Prouveur, a 30-year-old midwife, they had a unique child, Yves' grandfather: Louis Cyrille Cordelle Born in 1873.
After their retirement, the Arsène Cordelle seemed to have settled in Enghien in 1907, where Arsène died on 19 February 1918.
Arsène had received the leg of an uncle of Vervins: Xavier Nicolas Bahoux, whose trace was kept.
