Letter from Fred (to Toulon) to Granie (in Versailles)
9 September 1984
My dear Granie.
We knew from the family noises that you had returned to Versailles. It must be said that you are now in the heart of the privileged residential area of the Cordelle family. Parents, Renaud, Christophe, Isabelle. Only we left the Paris region for Toulon.
A beautiful country is true as Toulon and its region. A lot of wind, but also a lot of sun. Besides, we are very well settled at Grandma and we eat grapes every day by going to pick it in the vineyard. It's almost Dampierre in summer what!
We're still looking forward to finding a home, Brigitte and I. First we have to make sure that the work at ECA is worth it. It looks like it's the case after 3 weeks there.nd I'm not a man in the world, but I'm a man in the world who's got a camera or sonar that detects mines, and the machine is remote controlled by a wire.
Brigitte went to Paris, so I'm doing a TV orgy and I watch all the movies that look like the most nuptial.
We've only been swimming three times since the beginning. It must be said that our organization is not yet very close. The Castelet is 35km away from work and I have 2 hours of journeys a day. We don't want to do crazy after that. In 15 days it will change. But it's another story.
I'm kissing Fred.

Letter from Fred (du Brûlat) to Tandree (in Paris)
9 September 1984
My dear Tandree
It's a shame you couldn't go to Dampierre this year. Except for the vegetable garden that might need a vigorous treatment, the house, the garden, the flowers are more beautiful than ever. We still eat potatoes from Dampierre. It's so easy to pick up.
So we're pretty much Toulouse now, looking for a house to buy because we have some savings now. Meanwhile we live at Grandma's in a beautiful corner (with vines and ripe grapes) before moving to a furnished hillside near my job, time to find a beautiful house...
Everything's fine, my work is a little bit of a change. It was starting to feel like it was in St. Cloud. And Brigitte is busy right now with writing his master's degree and looking for a house.
We'll get used to our new life. The opposite would be difficult. The only trouble for now is the length of the trip to work. But it will change in 15 days. Brigitte has gone to Paris for 10 days. She works as she does every year in time to host at the jewellery show. J的en takes advantage of it to make a television orgy for 3 days. Since I never had TV, I catch up today. It's a pity that the quality of the image is not very famous in this region.
As we are apparently living in the electronics century, I am quite happy with my work which concerns this aspect of things. The precedent was rather about the big mechanics. So it's new. See you soon. I'm kissingFred.

Excerpts from letters from Grandma about Fred and Brigitte's visits to the Brûlat:

Extract from the letter of 15 November 1986 to Claude
"I also had to have dinner with the Fredl, and we had a good chat. They were in good shape, well-fitted after 4 days of November. ( ??) Last week, and s'y are found in the family, Yanns, Christophes, and finally a real family party. Laurent was at Hyères the same goal, and all this youth was ( ??)"

Extract from the letter of 4 February 1987 to Claude
"I repeat my letter interrupted by a call from Brigitte, which tells me the good news planned for the end of September, what joy my dears, I find it hard to believe in so much happiness! Let's hope that everything will be fine, and that I will have the happiness of seeing this baby come so much desired. I do not realize... and I kiss you, all my dear family, that the Lord is watching over this little one. I hope that the Frédérics will be able to come to me one day. My little Claude, if you knew how happy I am, I think I will shorten my letter, because my machine is tired and in essence I no longer know what I am writing. I just got a phone call from Yves that made me happy, and I kiss you both tenderly, T. Maine just came home and joined me.

Letter from Grandma (au Brûlat) to Claude and Yves (in Versailles)
13-2-87Friday
My dears
A little word that was badly written, but to tell you that we had Fred and Brigitte at dinner last night, and that they were shining with happiness! It was a real joy to see them really transformed. Brigitte had brought us the photos of the ultrasounds made in the afternoon, your little baby has already 2cm 1⁄2 long, a heart that beats beautifully, finally it is a beautiful promise sent by the Lord and I was very moved.
The chatter and the projects went well, and then they took away their pretty dresser, Tandree's memory, and in exchange Fred left his big Guernsey sweater... which is no big deal.
The weather is back to the good day. The sky is blue, the wind is missing, and I just went outside with T. Maine as a guide. ( ??) Every day, with the hope of improving my case.
Two happy events in a few months, it's worth an effort, even if it's not very effective. I think you're going to make a jump to Vierville this weekend, my dears, I wish you good weather and kiss you tenderly, T. Maine joins me, I'm very happy to have her with me.
