Letter from ? (from the EDF of Chinon) to Yves Cordelle, Director of the EDF Region of Tours
Chinon, 20 August 1984
Mr. Director and my friend
With the discretion that characterizes you, I think you're leaving your directorship without coming back to Chinon.
Leading this development for four years, I want to testify to you here, on behalf of all those around me and in my own name how much we appreciated your way of directing us.
If you actually appear as discreet, you have been there every time decisions at your level are required.
Moreover, this human side, without which one would be just a technocrat, appeared on occasions where it has helped to solve painful cases.
Fernand Rousse, an honest man who lived in Chinon once wrote:
"We must not judge a man by his great qualities but by the use he knows of"
I'll be very happy to tell you that I thought about you reading this sentence.
That's just the testimony of admiration and thanks I wanted to tell you.
I wish you satisfaction in your new post and hope that one day our roads will cross again.
Very respectful
signed?
NB Your stay at the plantation apparently did not convince you of the virtues of Chinon's wine. However, maybe you will have the curiosity to taste a little of this wine collected year after your arrival in Touraine and who has grown old while you were our Director
