Late 1973 - Saint Avertin - Installation

79

Letter from Claude (to St Avertin) to his parents (at Versailles), October 73,
..We are bored of Dad's worries with his leg. I hope you will soon recover and it will be only a bad memory. But time must seem long and you who liked to buy the newspaper and make the market, you must be eager to move back in Versailles.
Here everything is going well the house starts to be beautiful and will soon be ready to receive all our visitors. There are still curtains to hang, but the view on the garden is so beautiful that we don't want to hide its windows. Besides the boys who are for simplicity find that the curtains "it's no use" , so you see the conclusion.
After the Toussaint, on one of Yves's trips to Paris, he will take you by car – you will tell us what date is right for you, it is better not to be too late in the season, because there are still many leaves to the trees, and autumn will last a while longer, but will not last forever.

Yesterday we went with Martin and Renaud to a regatta on a nice lake of Sologne. There were big chestnuts and a beautiful light. The children are happy to have taken foot in the sailing club of St Avertin. It is very family, they are few and it is very close to the house. It is really their favorite leisure and it makes me happy to see them simmer and return the red cheeks. All these intellectual sons need physical exercises.

I've written Renaud to a choir and I think I'm going to do a pipe building workshop in this children's choir... I don't know if I told you any more.
I write you from the garden that is an enchantment. I dropped the graphology and I live as in the last century, like a "bourgeoisie". Yves has work, but I think it's interesting. He always travels a lot. He had a fluy look but it's over.
We are now making plans to install a chimney – because in winter it is nice to heat your feet to the flame.
You're going to have a lot of distraction with the Besson coming to Toussaint. I hope these lucky people will use the long leave they're entitled to.
Here alone Christophe will have a big week, because in his high school there are many interns (about half of the students) and because of them the leave is extended so that they can return home. I went to a meeting of parents of the high school, this one looks well held. There are some pedagogical innovations: 1/10 of the class hours must be used from this year for extra-program activities, at the choice of students and teachers. This requires imagination, but in a huge high school of 5000 students it poses problems.
I have mushrooms full of the garden, and I regret that Granie is not here to tell me if they are edible.
Big kisses from all of us
