of the Liberation of Bourg in September 1944 to his death in 1974

Memories of Claude:
" The Liberation did not accept those soldiers who had not been on the side of the winners. Although very happy to have been recalled by the Marshal of Lattre de Tassigny - who was of the same promotion of the war school - to finish the liberation of France (Strasbourg, then Germany) as liaison officer and then organizer of a camp of deportees of all nationalities, finally in occupation at the Rockenhausen in the Palatinate (where we spent a holiday in 46), he was released from the army at the Purification Commission led by the "respondents".
In September 1944, Bourg was released by the American troops of the 7th Army, who were returning north after the landing on 15 August 44 in Provence.
Lt-Colonel Rougier was then affected The Regional Social Service of the 14th Military Region (Lyon) position as head of the military social service for the Bourg en Bresse region (since April 1943).
After various episodes:
- The 18/9/44, it is put on hold The situation was not as clear as it was in the case of the French government, but as a result of the fact that the French government had not taken any action to prevent the use of the word "disabled" in the French Government.
- On an unspecified date, but after 16 Nov 44, the Head of Social Sce of the 14th Region requested its reactivation to/c of 1/9/44The Commission has not yet taken the necessary steps to ensure that the measures taken by the Member States are taken in accordance with Article 3 of the Treaty.
- 14/3/45, the lay-off measure has been cancelled. His administrative situation was regularized with effect from 1 September. At the same time his comrade of promotion at the School of War (1926-28), General (future Marshal) of Lattre de Tassigny, Comd the 1st French army, recalled him to his Major State to resume the fight.
Previously he had to go before the Commission of Purification - War which Granie noted "the opinion of the Resistance", which could not prevent the return of Lt-Colonel Rougier.
Maurice Rougier was therefore (23 February 45) of the 1st French Army of General of Tassigny (Notice of transfer of 23 February 1945).
It seems that this staff was to GérardmerThe first army was then responsible for reducing the German pocket remaining in the Alsace plain.
Lt-Colonel Rougier was in Besançon on 3 March, from where he travelled by road to Gérardmer on the morning of 4 March 1945. liaison officer between the 1st Army Staff and the 2nd Army Corps, position held until April 10, 1945.
See extracts from the letters addressed to the President of the to his family during this part of the campaign for the liberation of Alsace and fighting in the Palatinate and beyond the Rhine in Germany.
On 10 April 1945, in the face of the problems caused by millions of displaced persons of all nationalities released by the advance of the Allied troops, temporary accommodation centres had to be set up as a matter of urgency.
Lt-Colonel Rougier was then seconded by the 5th EM Bureau as Date of Camp of prisoners repatriated from GermersheimThe aim was to create a camp of 1500 Russian, Polish or Italian prisoners, which operated until July 1945, when all the inmates were repatriated to their country of origin.

"...We have learned with pleasure that you are doing well, that you have rejuvenated and fattened 10 kg. We are very happy with this change, because the last time I saw you when you accompanied Mom to Toulouse, I was impressed by your bad face and your thinness, it was the effect of undernourishment..."
After the Russians left and the camp was dissolved in early August 1945, Maurice Rougier was at the disposal of the Military Governor of the Occupied Territories, the Military Government of Hesse-Palatinate, as Delegate of Cercle. The administrative status of the institution has evolved, and it has become "specially assimilated", with a role and civil status. The Rougier had the hope of settling in, the girls were even enrolled in the French high school in Wiesbaden.
Life was easy for the French in Germany: large house requisitioned, gardener, driver, cook, maid at the expense of the requisitions. Granie had to even send back additional but useless aids (old Nazis to do work).
