Fredy was with his grandparents for a long time. In 1900, he returned to Sceaux with his mother.
Memories of Claude: "Ferdinand became the eldest. He studied law and the Colonial School. It was for me, little girl, an uncle with the very strong stature and who impressed me, he was "Government of Sudan". He came to stay with us one day in Dijon, he blew so hard that it was understood at the other end of the apartment. From a first marriage with Simone Batsale, they had Madette, who was infirm. Returning to France for her delivery, the young mother died back in Africa in the sinking of the ship "Africa". "
Fredy prepared the colonial school and completed his law degree. He subsequently entered as Assistant Director of Indigenous Affairs in the colonial administration in Sudan. He was received Knight of the Legion of Honor. He was then Chief Administrator, Director of Political Affairs at Headquarters in 1932, and was appointed Governor of the French Sudan on December 4, 1936, until March 28, 1938, when he was replaced by Jean DESANTI.
Married to Simone BATSALE for the first time in Bamako in 1911 (see genealogy of the Batsal), they had a first daughter in October 1912
Madeleine ROUGIER died in June 1913, then a second, Madeleine, known as Madette Rougier,
Born on Thursday 14 March 1918 disabled.
At her birth, Madette was half paralyzed, and she spoke little and had a great stiffness of arms.
Simone BATSALE who has disappeared (see part) in dramatic shipwreck "Africa On 12 January 1920, Madette was raised by her grandmother Batsale in Grenoble (where her grandfather Batsale died, retired, former secretary of the Public Prosecutor's Office). Then at 10 she went to Paris, to board, especially her grandmother Pauline REIG-ROUGIER. Then in class 3 in Grenoble, to board her grandmother Batsale (from 1933 to 1936).
Jeanne Rougier, then Maurice ROUGIER, Claude's father, took care of Madette for a long time after Fredy's death in 1940. disability
And it was therefore difficult. Married at 51 (March 15, 1969)) with another disabled person, Jacques ZELENNY, and finally broke up relations with the family in the 1970s.
After Simone Batsale's tragic death, Fredy ROUGIER remarried Madeleine ROUSSE in November 1922 at Fouras (17), of which he had two boys: Pierre Rougier in June 1922, and Jacques ROUGIER, born in Dakar in June 1925. Madeleine ROUSSE-ROUGIER died in Nice.
We kept letters from Madeleine Rousse-Rougier and Pierre Rougier addressed to Maurice Rougier in Borg during the war, interesting letters on the difficulties of life during the war and also that of Pierre Rougier writing from Chemnitz in 1943 when he was required by the STO (Service du Travail Obligatoire, en Allemagne)
