Rosario
Rosario, Argentina's second largest city in 1930, was a major railway hub and the boarding centre of northeastern Argentina. The cargoes reached the city through Paraná. The port is subject to sluggishness and must be regularly dredged. Wheat, flour, hay, flax oil and other oils were exported, as well as corn, sugar, wood, meat, skins and wool. Flour, sugar, meat and other food products were produced on site. The town was founded in 1725 and remained a small village until 1850, when it became a port of landing. It is a modern city with pleasant boulevards, parks and suburbs.
