I received your letters of 16 November 44, and yours, my dear Georges of the same month, on 15 January 1945.
... I learned very hard that the old house had suffered, although moderately of what was to be feared, and that all our memories had disappeared. Our family home is dead now and it's very sad... I don't know if I will raise this dear old house. I don't think so. I'll see that with you when I go to France, so that we can settle the estate.
