Jean Hausermann in Buenos Aires, at Jean Cordelle, via ??, when did she arrive, probably after the liberation of Paris.

13 May 1944

My dear Jean,

I've received your letter of December 12th. (1943, a draft was kept on December 3, 43, but it is apparently not the same letter) and we were very happy to know that you are all in good health, we were sorry to learn this series of(a) known people to whom we had attached. Hey, Drillon, your Uncle Dupuis. (the father of Jean Dupuis and Antoinette Margottat)I told Cherryer the bad news, he's pretty good. He's barely getting out of a new amputation: that of the big right foot, his morale has dropped, and his ability to work is diminished. Lucien is still there and does nothing.

We're all fine, the kids are working properly, Jean-Paul in second, 1m72 and 75 kg, Jean-Louis in 7ndWe heard from Germaine's family from the Red Cross on November 15, 1943. Germaine is very concerned about her old parents.

We had the opportunity to talk about you and the peppers by the young Betbeder who came here, quite badly in place. Sympathetic boy, we get it from time to time.

Next September, you'll be very kind to ask Marcelle Saillard if she needs money, and in this case to give it to her, to debit on my account, up to 15,000 francs. Maybe by then the situation will be clearer for all.
We work here in very special conditions and with enemies from all sides. I am well assisted by Canonne, who has just had a son, whom I have baptized today, a beautiful little guy who has name Alain. On occasion warn Miss Marthe Canonne, 23 rue Esquermise Lille.

I'm very concerned about the old house, and realize that the future is dark for it.
We are thinking of you and the dear country, and we hope to be able to meet in a future not too far away.
We meet to kiss you very affectionately
Jean
