Draft of a letter addressed to Bonne Maman by Jean Cordelle on 16/10/36
"Rosario 16 October 1936
My dear mother
We received your letter last Saturday, which gives us good news from all of us. So everyone has returned to Paris and the work taken over. You already know that we have decided to leave the children in France and in Paris, it is to be hoped that everything will finally be arranged.
The children had to return to work at Kayser, I hope they will have a good year and François will be able to spend his baccot without too much difficulty; I would not have much concern if they were a little less bad in French, and they will both have to make an effort on this side. As regards the organization of the days off, I am opposed to the course of dance and I wrote to Mrs Hausermann in this regard. For tennis, there is no problem with them being part of it, but without believing that they must go there every time, even if it is beautiful; they have the opportunity to do so when it fits with time and other occupations. I can also see from your letter that they're all the time with the Dupuis, and maybe it's a little exclusive. As much as I want them not to pass all On Thursdays and Sundays with the Dupuis, they do it with great kindness and thanks, but you need a little more freedom and independence, and then you will certainly understand as I do that François and Michel must spend some of their leisure time with boys and be able to go out with their cousins Chedal; so all you have to do is arrange this so that you can share the days off at the best, depending on the circumstances; that will not prevent the children or lunch with you or to call you at the end of the day every time you want. In another respect, it is also necessary that they walk and do not get used to the car that Peter kindly makes available to them.
At Rosario we all go well and we start to get hot. We took Yves once or two to the beach of Rosario located about ten kilometers; going there on Saturday afternoon or Sunday morning, there is no one and that does good to Yves; there is sufimented sand to play. I hope you're all fine and we kiss you very affectionately as well as all around you. Jean Cordelle
