Letter from Jean Hersent of 31 December 1907:
" 60 rue de London Paris, December 31, 1906
Dear Mr. Hausermann,
Having studied the situation of the companies of Bizerte and Sidi-Abdallah on 30 June 1904, when you left these companies, I will be obliged to tell me whether it is indeed 54.000F (27.000F + 12.000F + 15,000F) plus 25,000F last that you received in gratuities for the works of Bizerte, Sidi-Abdallah and Dakar, in order to settle your participation in this work.
Please accept, dear Mr. Hausermann, the expression of my affectionate sentiments.

It seems that Hersent accounts are a little imprecise, they are not very sure of what they paid to Daddy. It is true that the oldest payment date of 1898.

" Mr. Hausermann
My brother just looked at the situation of Bizerte and Sidi-Abdallah companies, when you left.
If we have a good memory, you had then received 54,000F as bonuses.
Since then you have received Bizerte and Dakar:
25 000F received in Rosario
Total 79,000F received to date for this work
To this sum we can allocate you as settlement of account to take into account your efforts the sum of 40,000F , so to settle your situation before your arrival in Rosario.
Tell us if you agree, and then you can make Rosario the corresponding levy.

" Rosario 21 February 1907
Dear Mr. Hersent in Paris
I have received your note of 26 January on my settlement of accounts for the work of Sidi-Abdallah, Bizerte and Dakar.
I am pleased to accept the amount of 40,000 francs you have proposed and thank you very much.
I'll have to send this money to Mr. Chapelle, notary in Lison, Calvados. (It seems that from this time onwards, the Hausermanns were planning an investment in Normandy)
Included, I'll send you the corresponding receipt.
Please believe, dear Mr. Hersent, in the assurance of my devoted feelings
