Robert Gervais

Written in Le Havre, some letters are addressed to Mr Gervais, chapelier, 22 rue de Paris au Havre. I think this is Robert Gervais's brother Adolphe Gervais.

The Gervais were financially supported by the Hausermanns, because Tonton Robert, who had great qualities of heart, apparently never had any resources or regular work. He was very much loved by his nephews Chedal, to whom he often brought gifts like farces and traps, or drum, etc., of the kind that pleases the children but moderately to the parents.
