We don't know much about the origins of the father. Remy Hausermann.
A letter from the municipality ofEgliswill in Switzerland and addressed to Jean-Louis Hausermann gives the following information:

"Egliswill, 11 May 1985

          Very honoured Mr. Häusermann,
In response to your letter of 25 April, I can inform you that in our commune there have been many families in the past and that today it is still the largest number of families in Egliswill.

As you can see from the attached register of names in the first volume of the Family Register, there are about 60 Häusermann with the first name Jakob (Jacques).

I went through the register and was able to find only one family with two children, one of whom was Jakob on sheet 228.

I assume that in the case you are looking for, it is probably Jakob Häusermann, born on 23 April 1825; on sheet 316 of the register was transcribed neither date of marriage nor date of death. It is very likely that he emigrated abroad and from there was not announced either marriage or death. During those years there was not yet an announcement of changes of civil status in the original municipality, because there was not yet an embassy or consulate abroad."

According to this letter Jacob Häusermannn was born in 1825, but there is serious doubt as all the civil status acts of his children suggest that he was born in 1816. Perhaps the request for information addressed in Switzerland did not indicate the probable date of birth in view of the French acts.

He was also known to be a tailor in Paris, at various addresses, recorded on the civil documents kept:
                    In 1847: 19, rue Boucher, Paris 11th
In 1858: 9, rue du Marais, Paris 5th
In 1866-68: 16, rue des Canettes, Paris 6th
In 1872-75: 25, rue Dauphine, Paris
In 1877: 35, rue du Vieux Pont de Sèvres in Boulogne

He died around 1878 at 62 years of age. birth certificate which indicates:

"Rosine Herrmann, born 21 January 1817 in Daugendorf (or Dauendorf currently)
PERE: (declarant) Jean Adam HERRMANN, 63 years old, tiler, born in Daugendorf (circa 1754)
MERE: Marie Josephe WEISKOPFAU, born in Daugendorf

Their marriage was delayed on 18 February 1857, in Paris, 12th decision, which legitimized the children born in 1843 (Remy, my great-grandfather) and 1847 (Albert) Their third child Rosalie was born in 1858.
Here are some indications of the 2 youngest:

Albert Joseph Hausermann (1847-1902) was a tailor in Paris where he married a modist in 1872: Caroline Closier, daughter of a binder.
They had four children:
Albert (1873-1950), engraver (followed by his uncle Rémy Hausermann), married to an Englishman, 1 son
Marguerite, born in 1875, married in 1917
                              Jeanne, born in 1879
Jeanne-Marie (1881-1971), married twice in 1903 and then in 1920

Rosalie Hausermann  (1858-1877) was a vestger, and she died at the age of 19 in Paris.
