the family with donkeys, returning from the cave of Ain Fezza
Notes by Louis Cordelle:
"From a legionnaire train from Bel Abbes in 1911, towards the border of Morocco.
The music and the flag give the honors to the dock.
Back of the medal-winning soldier who is on the left of the flag holder, we see General Girardot, his hand on the kepi (head of cabinet of the new Minister of War)
In the crowd, to the left of the face, the station leader of Bel Abbes."

On 14 January 1911, the Louis CORDELLE family, sailed for Algeria on the "City of Madrid" ship. They arrived in Oran on 16 January and on 17 January in Sidi Bel Abbes.
Louis was then chief operating officer at the Chemins de Fer de l'Ouest Algerian.
They settled in a beautiful house with garden in Bel Abbes, some of which we have pictures.

Louis' health was becoming increasingly weak, and he died on 23 July 1912 page 3784, the result of a sunrise.
The family has returned to Paris. Louis was buried in Saint-Denis.

A recalcitrant artillery team at the landing. The little man is the captain (with a towel on his head). They just spent 2 days on the railway."
