Louis-François 1 TOURTE (1786) was a musician at the court of Charles X. His father and grandfather,
François-Xavier TOURTE(1747-1835) and Nicolas-Pierre TOURTE
(1700-1764) were famous archers.
Married to Sophie LEVASSEUR, they had 3 children: Henri (1809, wind instrument factor), Louis François 2 says Francis (1816, composer, poet, postman, grandfather of Yves Cordelle's grandmother) and Félix-Théodore (1822, painter)

To his excellence, my lord, the Minister of the Interior (from King Louis-Philippe 1st)
My lord,
I have the honour to explain that for a long time, the weakening of my sight makes me very painful in the service of the orchestra. The injury I received in the leg three years ago, which still causes me severe pains, puts me in the absolute impossibility of continuing to be part of the Royal Academy of Music. I beg you, therefore, my Lord, to grant my request for a pension to the administration, and to make sure that you do so by having my services settled in a school of service, the needs of my family will not allow me to wait without suffering from delays.
My application is based on twenty-five years of uninterrupted service.
I have the honor of being my Lord, with respect your very humble and obsessive servant
